Fiona's Story SISU

EXTRAORDINARY DETERMINATION, COURAGE AND RESOLUTENESS IN THE FACE OF EXTREME ADVERSITY. AN ACTION MINDSET WHICH ENABLES INDIVIDUALS TO SEE BEYOND THEIR PRESENT LIMITATIONS AND INTO WHAT MIGHT BE. TAKING ACTION AGAINST ALL ODDS AND REACHING BEYOND OBSERVED CAPACITIES. AN INTEGRAL ELEMENT OF FINNISH CULTURE, AND ALSO A UNIVERSAL CAPACITY FOR WHICH THE POTENTIAL EXISTS WITHIN ALL INDIVIDUALS

When you browse through the internet there are many seemingly perfectly trained bodies. These "role models" want to show the world how others can also attain there, so-called perfection!

This is most often all about the external look of a body but doesn't always concentrate on what’s going on underneath the surface. For some people this way of gaining their “perfect” body is the right way.

I prefer a different way.

I want to assist you to wake up every morning enjoying just BEING. To realise that you are not in pain, that you feel positive about your day and that you are looking forward to your daily routine.

I am over 50 years old myself and have experienced, just like every woman my age, a transition time within myself. The menopause doesn't only come with the discomforts in our bodies, but can also transform our mindsets, sometimes making us to feel as if we don't recognise ourselves anymore.

During my dance career, I endured terrible back problems, which almost stole away my passion for dancing and training my body.

Through Bowspring, I have gained an inner strength that my dance training never offered me. My spine feels as if it is allowed to re-find its’ naturalness through training using the double-S-curve. The fascia awareness that the Bowspring practice offers, through the idea of working with tensegrity, has enabled me to achieve a pain free body. I truly never believed this would be possible ever again!

I experienced trauma over the past few years, on a personal level, which left my soul destroyed. Then I was shocked by the diagnosis from my doctor and had to undergo major surgery. Parallel to all of this I was dealing with a complete renovation of my apartment, whilst living there, together with my 2 teenage daughters and on top of all of that, the corona virus plunged into all of our lives and we were made to isolate ourselves.

THIS WAS WHEN I DISCOVERED THIS TERM FROM FINLAND: SISU

It was time for TRANSFORMATION....

After a few months of mourning and rehabilitation, blowing dust off everything I touched, talking to my beautiful friends, dealing with my daily parenting challenges and often feeling sorry for myself, the Bowspring practice came into my life.

I would say it was my life saver!

It gave me strength, peace of mind, encouragement, direction, mindfulness, acceptance, calmness, a new lease of life, a new challenge, more resilience and perspective for my future.

I cannot imagine life without Bowspring anymore. It has allowed me to maintain my dignity during very challenging times and offered me a path I enjoy to follow.

No-one is saved from facing challenges and hardship in this world, some have it harder than others. The most important factor is how you deal with it. Use those moments to face up to it, to grow and to transform.
